Ball State University's Conceptual Framework
ContextAfter reading the "context" section of the Ball State Conceptual Framework, I realized that many of my students will have individual differences along with a wide range of disabilities. By taking a contextual approach, I must allow the students to learn, engaging their interests and stimulating their individual learning process. By taking a contextual approach, I must also be active in the community and with the parents of my students. By interacting with parents, I can learn more about their students to help them personally learn. I can also be active in the community to help others take a contextual approach to special needs education.

EngagementI beleive that engangement for me as an educator means constant interaction and constant monitoring of progress. As a special education major, following this section of he conceptual framework will be no problem. My students' assessments will all be apprpriate with their cognitive activity level. I really enjoyed Hugh's thought on social relatedness. Every bulleted "experience" had some tie with special education (IEP, adaptive technology, alternative placement). The constuctionist view from Ball State's conceptual framework empshasize that engaged educators not only be an expert at finding knowledge bases, but also encourage the best ways of information processing.

Expertise
After reading Ball State's coceptual framework on expertise, I am kind of overwhelmed. I never realized how skilled and prepared I will be when I leave college. The amount of impact I have on a student based on my level of understanding. I understand that for me to do great, I must start now to become more of an expert in my field
